Thomas the Terror
Matthew is terrified of Thomas the Train. When the show comes on PBS-Spout (the preschooler channel) he becomes very agitated and yells for me to turn it off. He wasn't always like this...there must have been an episode that scared him b/c he does not want to watch that show ever again!
Maybe he's just smarter than the average bear. I mean, really, talking trains? There's something VERY wrong with that! ;)
The Thomas bug is a hard one to get rid of and an expensive one! Especially if you're one of THOSE PARENTS who sees things in your kids fave characters and has to fight back buying it JUST BECAUSE! Thank Cod Liam hates Thomas too!
Oh, I am sorry he is so terrified, poor thing. But I kind of agre that maybe you should count your blessings, in a way. My son was one of those kids addicted to Thomas. Then when we found out about the lead in the paint of some of the trains, ACK! But I have to admit, I did kind of enjoy some of the episodes, especially those where George Carlin was the narrator!
Hey Cyndi! Now, I've never even seen the Thomas show, but I gotta say, that face is kind of creepy if you look at it long enough. I'm with Matthew! :o) (I'm sorry was so scared though!)
"Autism is a neurological disorder that often interferes with a person's ability to communicate with and relate to others. Signs of autism almost always develop before a child is 3 years old. Typically, parents first become concerned when they notice that their toddler does not begin to talk or does not respond and interact like other children. Autism also affects how a child perceives and processes sensory information. The severity of autism varies. Some individuals need assistance in almost all aspects of their daily lives, while others are able to function at a very high level and can even attend school in a regular classroom. While this is a lifelong condition, early diagnosis and treatment can make a major difference."
